Let me just say it plainly: If you’re forgetting things, zoning out in conversations, getting irritated more than usual, or struggling to finish what you start… That doesn’t make you lazy, or stupid, or broken.

You might be carrying the weight of anxiety. You might be dealing with undiagnosed ADHD. You might just be overwhelmed by a world that never slows down. And listen—I get it.

The constant notifications, the pressure to keep up, the noise in your head that won’t turn off… It can feel like your brain is betraying you. But here’s what I want to say to you today: Your struggle does not disqualify you from peace. God is not disappointed in your mental wiring. You are still worthy of grace, right here, even if your thoughts feel like chaos.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

There’s a kind of exhaustion that doesn’t go away with sleep. There’s a kind of anxiety that hides behind high-functioning. There’s a kind of mental noise that doesn’t mean you’re weak—it just means your nervous system has been in survival mode for too long. Whether you’re dealing with ADHD that makes everything feel disorganized… Or anxiety that makes the smallest decisions feel impossible…

Please know this: God is not confused by your mental health. He’s not watching from afar waiting for you to “get it together.”

He’s sitting right beside you in the swirl of it all. He understands the layers. And He’s still offering rest. Peace. Clarity. Not through performance, but through presence.

So today, here’s what I invite you to try:

Pause, take one deep breath.

Whisper: “God, I’m here. I need You. I can’t do this alone.”

That’s enough. That’s prayer. That’s healing in motion. You are not your diagnosis. You are not your worst day. You are not falling behind—healing just looks different on everyone.

Let your next step be small. Let it be gentle. And let it be laced with grace.

With love,

Dr. Lucy U. Evans
